Updating
Aadhaar card information involves the following steps:
1.
Visit the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal
(SSUP): Go to the official website of the UIDAI (Unique Identification
Authority of India) which is the governing body for Aadhaar cards, and access
the SSUP portal at https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/.
2.
Choose the Appropriate Update Option: On the
SSUP portal, you will be given different update options such as Name, Gender,
Date of Birth, Address, Mobile Number, and Email ID. Choose the relevant option
that you want to update on your Aadhaar card.
3.
Provide Correct Information: Fill in the correct
information in the respective fields. Make sure to provide accurate details as
per the supporting documents you will be submitting for verification.
4.
Upload Supporting Documents: Upload the
necessary supporting documents as per the update you are making. For example,
if you are updating your address, you will need to upload a valid address proof
document such as a passport, voter ID card, utility bill, etc.
5.
Review and Submit: Review the information you
have provided and cross-verify it with your supporting documents. If everything
is accurate, click on the "Submit" button.
6.
Update Request Confirmation: After submitting
the update request, you will receive an update request confirmation with a URN
(Update Request Number). This URN can be used to check the status of your
update request.
7.
Biometric Verification (if required): In some
cases, you may be required to visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center for
biometric verification. This will be communicated to you during the update
process if necessary.
It is
important to note that updating Aadhaar card information may take some time and
the updated Aadhaar card will be sent to your registered address through India
Post. You can also download a digital copy of your updated Aadhaar card from
the UIDAI website or mAadhaar mobile app once the update is approved.
